What Brings Me Here

A love for the fullness of being human.

The Landscape Within

There’s so much in the world worth knowing and experiencing: science, art, nature, the intricate workings of our societies, endless beauty and wonder to explore.

Yet what if the most fascinating territory isn’t “out there,” but right here: the varied contours and unexplored layers of our inner life. How we react, what we avoid, what we long for…all of it has roots that go deeper than our conscious story about ourselves.

Most people come to therapy because something hurts or isn’t working. But what often surprises people is that the same inner landscape that holds our struggles also holds capacities and depths waiting to be discovered. The work becomes not just about healing, but about getting to know ourselves more fully.

Together, we slow down and pay attention to what’s present: thoughts, emotions, and patterns that often go unseen but shape how life feels and unfolds.

A Bit About My Path

Kelley Parke, PhD, LPCC

I think the most important thing you can know about me is that I’m a fellow traveler. Along my path, I’ve known both tender lows and genuine highs. I’ve navigated painful loss and experienced profound love. I know the feelings of emptiness, confusion, and doubt—and also those of wholeness, clarity, and conviction. My personal search for depth and connection led me to the field of psychology. The growth I’ve experienced and witnessed in others continues to inspire my work.

All this informs how I show up as a therapist. I’ve worked with people carrying heavy burdens of shame, grief, and trauma—including those whose lives may seem outwardly fortunate, yet grapple like everyone with struggles around meaning, self-worth, and connection. I bring deep respect for the full range of human experience and a genuine appreciation for the challenge of creating a satisfying life, especially in a world that presents so many emerging challenges. Clients have described me as understanding and compassionate. As a fellow traveler, I couldn’t be otherwise.

I hold a master’s degree in mental health counseling and have over twenty years of post-graduate experience as a psychotherapist. I also earned a PhD in East-West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where I studied how wisdom traditions inform psychological healing and how psychological work can support spiritual development. Over the years, I’ve engaged in various forms of self-exploration and have been a student of the Diamond Approach since 2012.

I’ve completed extensive professional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hakomi, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and BioDynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release. My work is also informed by Integral Theory, Coherence Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I’m licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor in California (LPCC #189) and a Professional Counselor in Oregon (LPC #C6760).

"Life stops being the life of strife and frustration, the wish for success and the fear of failure…life becomes a process of creative discovery. Discovery itself becomes the heart of life."
